Our home base for the retreat is the beautiful hilltop village of Menerbes, in the heart of the Luberon region of Provence.
Here, winding country roads lead to hilltop villages that feel unchanged by time. These smaller villages are filled with charming streets ( photo opportunities!), local cafe’s, artisan shops, and markets that remain a vital part of daily life. This is the Provence many people dream about. Relaxed, beautiful, and deeply connected to everyday French life.

Your Home in Provence
Our base for the week is a beautifully renovated village house nestled in the heart of the Luberon — in the charming hilltop village of Ménerbes. Fully restored in 2023, this south-facing home opens onto a private terrace with sweeping views of the Petit Luberon mountain range, where lavender fields spill down the hillside below and the sun sets in full view every evening. It is, quite simply, the kind of place you'll never want to leave.
The Space
The house comfortably accommodates our group of six, with five bedrooms and three bathrooms thoughtfully spread across two floors.
The Kitchen & Outdoor Living
The fully equipped kitchen makes mornings effortless — outfitted with a steam oven, induction stove, dishwasher, and refrigerator so that our French-style breakfasts come together beautifully each day.
Step outside and the terrace becomes the heart of the home. Furnished with comfortable seating and a shading umbrella, it's where mornings begin slowly over coffee, and evenings end with the last light fading over the Luberon. With lavender fields just below and the mountains stretching across the horizon, the view alone is worth the journey.

France is my passion and my specialty - but my clients travel the world, and I design journeys for all of it.
Patty Bakker Journeys was founded in September 2024 due to a genuine love of travel and belief that the most meaningful experiences are thoughtfully designed.
I’ve always been drawn to the details that transform a trip - from the feel of a well located boutique hotel to the ease of a perfectly timed itinerary. Over time, that appreciation grew into a passion for helping others experience travel in a way that feels effortless, personal, and memorable.
France, in particular, holds a special place for me. Whether it’s a morning at a local market in Provencal village, a quiet cafe in Nice, or the rhythm of everyday life in Paris, I’m continually inspired by the way the French approach travel and living - with intention, beauty, and a deep appreciation for the moment. That perspective has deeply influenced how I design journeys for my clients.

There is no separate fee for my travel planning services. My work is supported through longstanding partnerships with the hotels, cruise lines, and travel partners I carefully select — allowing you to benefit from thoughtful, personalized planning at no additional cost.
What happens if plans change while I’m traveling?
Travel is dynamic — and that’s where I come in. Should anything shift during your journey, you’ll have support behind the scenes to help adjust plans, offer solutions, and ensure your experience remains seamless and stress-free.
